I graduated with an Honours degree in Human Physiology from NUIG in 2003. I obtained a Masters in Clinical Chemistry and Haematology from the University of the West of England, Bristol in 2005 and completed my PhD there in 2008. My doctoral research focused on the proteomic analysis of diabetic cell lines, particularly in the context of lipotoxicity. I spent several years working as an independent scientific translator in Toulouse, France, before returning to Ireland to take up my current position as postdoctoral researcher on the ADIOS project. My current research focuses on investigating amoebic gill disease of salmon at a proteomic level.
