I hold a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science with Ecology (2021-2025) at the Atlantic Technological University in Sligo. During my degree I was able to participate in the EU Erasmus Programme in Mid Sweden University Östersund for a winter semester and completed work placement in Sligo County Council in their environmental section. I was fortunate enough to do a bursary with the Marine Institute in Furnace Newport, Co. Mayo where my main role was to collect and process water samples in rivers and lakes, help with analyses of these samples and identify macroinvertebrates.
I am working within the FLOW project, a cross-border initiative addressing declining water quality across four priority catchments on the Irish border in support of the 3rd Cycle River Basin Management Plans (2021–2027). The project, funded by SEUPB under the PEACEPLUS programme, tackles agricultural pressures, wastewater discharge, sediment run-off and invasive species, while promoting community-led education and awareness.
My research interests are freshwater ecology and the use of molecular tools to aid aquatic environments. I also enjoy stakeholder engagement and am interested in citizen science.
