I am a zoologist interested in animal movement and human-wildlife coexistence, especially in human-dominated environments. I am currently a research assistant at ATU, working on a feasibility study for the potential establishment of the Motus wildlife tracking system in Ireland for the first time.
I did my undergraduate degree in Zoology in Trinity College Dublin, followed by a research master’s in Bioscience in Swansea University and a PhD in the School of Biology and Environmental Science in University College Dublin (UCD). Both my master’s and PhD research focused on movement ecology, working especially with canids. I’ve also worked on multiple other projects on topics including rodent behaviour, the microbiome and animal tracking technology development. Prior to my current position, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher in UCD investigating habitat selection by urban herring gulls.
