Adara Jaggernauth

Research Assistant
I am currently working as a Research Assistant on the Development of an alternative viable and sustainable commercial bait for the Irish whelk (Buccinum undatum) pot fishery project. Our work focuses on creating a more sustainable bait option for the whelk fishery, aiming to reduce pressure on traditional bait species like brown crab.
Before this, I was involved in coral reef research in the  Caribbean, where I studied fish communities and the effectiveness of marine protected areas in supporting reef resilience. I also contributed to regional efforts to build capacity among marine resource managers and strengthen conservation practices across multiple sites. Shifting between tropical reefs and temperate waters has allowed me to broaden my experience and deepen my commitment to marine conservation and sustainable practices.
