Anna David

I am a DAFM-funded PhD student, contributing to DeerImpact, a collaborative project between ATU, UCD, and Maynooth. My overall aim for this project is to estimate the densities of the three species of deer in Ireland using non-invasive genetics. Ultimately then, I hope that this will contribute to the development of well-informed and sustainable deer management and policies in Ireland.

Previously, I completed my BSc (Hons) in Zoology at University College Dublin, followed by a research masters in tropical forest ecology at Imperial College London. Most recently, I worked at UCD as a technical officer, where I worked closely with the Lab of Wildlife Ecology & Behaviour. My involvement with that group gave me the opportunity to contribute to ongoing research on the behavioural ecology of fallow deer in Phoenix Park, Dublin.
