I completed a BSc in Marketing and Communication at the “École Pratique des Hautes Études Commerciales (EPHEC)” in Brussels, Belgium, before starting a Master’s in Environmental Science at the “Université Libre de Bruxelles” (ULB). My Master’s thesis focused on the thawing of permafrost in Alaska and Siberia.
I completed an international Master’s in Marine Biological Resources (IMBRSea), where I studied at the Universidad de Oviedo (Oviedo, Spain), Göteborgs Universitet (Gothenburg, Sweden), and the Universidade do Algarve (Faro, Portugal). I completed my Master’s thesis at Centro de Ciências do Mar (CCMAR, Portugal), which was titled “Understanding communities’ views to aid MPA management and outreach: The Recife do Algarve Marine Park case-study.”
Alongside my studies, I worked as a fishery regional observer for the ROP-BFT (Bluefin Tuna) program in Croatia, France, and Portugal. As well as a compliance observer for the Loligo fishery in the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas).
I joined the MFRC as a PhD student in 2024 through the Marine Institute Cullen scholarship programme. My research focuses on the rising competition for marine space among Priority Fishing Areas (PFAs), Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), and Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) in a changing Celtic Seas climate.
My research interests include Marine Spatial Planning (MSP), MPAs, fisheries, and species distribution modelling (SDM).
