Manojkumar Chand

I have a degree in Coastal Ecology from the University of Agder in Norway, as well as an environmental science and management degree from Pokhara University in Nepal. My MSc thesis research focused on the “Benthic community distribution pattern in Sandnesfjorden” in technical partnership with NIVA and the University of Agder. As an independent researcher with NIVA in Norway, I worked on benthic invertebrate sorting, identification, and terrestrial organic matter inputs in the fjord system. I am a dedicated and passionate marine biologist who is interested in benthic surveys and their critical role in understanding and preserving marine ecosystems. As a PhD Candidate at Atlantic Technological University (ATU), Galway I am studying seafloor communities to research how I can adapt this Biological Quality Elements (BQE) to Irish benthic coastal and transitional habitats for the Water Framework Directive (WFD).
