Shawn Allard

I graduated with a BSc (Hon) in marine, wildlife, and conservation biology from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies. My undergraduate thesis focused on the invasive seagrass species Halophila stipulacea, investigating its coverage and frequency within local seagrass communities.
Now, I am pursuing my MSc in applied marine conservation through the Our Shared Ocean project at ATU. My research continues to delve into Halophila stipulacea, aiming to investigate its ecological impacts to develop practical conservation strategies to mitigate its spread. I am fortunate to be supervised by Dr. Jose M. Fariñas-Franco, whose expertise in marine conservation is guiding my journey.
Through my work, I am dedicated to understanding and protecting marine environments, driven by a
passion for preserving the delicate balance of our oceans.
